Hi, My name is Miriam E. Medina and I have been an Elvis fan since the age of 8 when my dad brought home a “45” single, named “Poor Boy”. I didn’t care much for the song, but loved looking at Elvis’ picture.
I was raised in New York City, between Brooklyn & Manhattan, from Puerto Rican parents, thereby making me a New York Rican. I married early & was soon single. I have four grown children, one deceased granddaughter, Krystle from my youngest daughter, Rosa, who is an actress & granddaughter, Amanda, my eldest son, Angel’s Daughter, who is now attending college majoring in Forensic Science. Her father is a glazier. My oldest daughter, Marilyn is a nurse & my youngest son, Eddie is a realtor. They are both single. I have a furry companion, named Tigger, he is a Tiger/Angora Kitty. R.I.P. Tigger,,
I moved to Florida in 1996 from New Jersey where I lived for 19 years & where I raised my children. I soon after joined “Elvis Presley Continentals” (the only fan club Elvis ever named & I’m so very proud of that). I met a few wonderful people that kept me coming back to the meetings & events & years later was asked to join the “Entertainment Committee” & also be “Treasurer” for the club as I am an accountant by trade. I now do real estate closings for a living.
My time spent with the “Elvis Presley Continentals” & the friends that I have made through the club are very dear to me. They are my family away from home.
